New classes! Lower tuition! It’s time to register for spring precollege and adult programs!

Registration opens Monday, December 3, for spring semester precollege and adult course offerings. Private lessons and a wide variety of classes are available – see the brochures for complete details and to register.

Highlights for precollege students

In order to make our ensemble courses available to the broadest possible range of students, spring tuition for several programs has been lowered!

Blair Children’s Chorus Program

Boychoir, Choristers, Young Men’s Chorus and Preparatory Chorus are now $295 (formerly $325) and the 90-minute Concert Choir tuition is now $315 (formerly $345). Auditions for boys and girls will be held 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, December 15, and 5-7 p.m. Monday, December 17. Auditions are held in Room 1109C at the Blair School of Music (signs will be posted). No reservations necessary – just show up!

Want to see them in action? The Blair Children’s Chorus Program concert is 7:30 p.m. Friday, December  14, in Ingram Hall.

Kindermusik

Tuition has been lowered from $395 to $350 for these classes: Village, Our Time, Wiggle and Grow, Imagine That and Young Child.

Additionally, if two children in a family are enrolled in the Kindermusik program or the Blair Children’s Chorus Program, the second child will receive a 25 percent discount on tuition.

Rhythm and Blues Tore Down the Walls of Segregation

Lectures, films, recordings, and classroom discussions bring the music and times of the Civil Rights Movement to life!

7-9 p.m. Mondays beginning January 28

Classes are held at the Blair School of Music, Room 2192. The class runs for eight sessions, and tuition is $210

Symphony 101: New Ears for Music and the Orchestra

Learn about the lives and times of composers and the music they created!

Mitchell Korn, Instructor

1-3 p.m. Tuesdays beginning January 22

Classes are held at the Belle Meade United Methodist Church, 121 Davidson Road. The class runs for eight sessions, and tuition is $110.
