Felix Pastorius, acclaimed jazz bassist, member of the Yellowjackets and Hipster Assassins and son of late jazz legend Jaco Pastorius, will perform with the Blair Big Band and Blair Jazz Choir on their season-ending concert, 8 p.m. Dec. 4 in Ingram Hall. Saxophonist Jeff Coffin, the newest member of Blair’s jazz faculty, will also perform.
The concert will blend jazz standards with holiday favorites, including a big band arrangement of the Nutcracker Suite.
Pastorius will also conduct a jazz master class at 5 p.m. Dec. 3 in Instrumental Rehearsal Hall. Participation in the class is limited to Blair students by audition, but the public is welcome to attend and observe.
