Marketing and Communications Coordinator

Lauren Carnahan is the marketing and communications coordinator at Vanderbilt University Blair School of Music. With a passion for storytelling, design, and helping creative communities thrive, Carnahan previously led communications at the Wond’ry, Vanderbilt’s Center for Innovation, where she developed its visual identity, redesigned the website, and created integrated marketing campaigns. She also created the branding and supported regional outreach for the NSF I-Corps Mid-South Hub, collaborating with universities across the Southeast to highlight innovation.

Carnahan earned a B.S. and M.S. in mass communication with honors from Middle Tennessee State University, where she also worked as a graduate assistant and discovered her love for blending creativity with strategy. Over the years, she has worn many hats: designer, writer, photographer, and videographer, always with a focus on meaningful connection and clear communication. Her work has included projects with WMC Memphis, PBS, Read to Succeed, the National Cancer Coalition, the Nashville Zoo, and the Nashville Healthcare Council. She is the recipient of both a National Student Emmy and an Achievement in Marketing Award from the American Marketing Association.

Outside of work, she loves hiking, kayaking, dancing, board games, and getting lost in a good book or musical. She lives in Nashville with her husband, Nathan, and their son, Jacob.
