Stefan Jackiw, widely recognized as one of the best young violinists today, will conduct master classes with Blair students from 10 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Nov. 3.
While only Blair students will participate directly in the class, anybody may attend and observe, and the sessions are free and open to public.
Jackiw is performing with the Nashville Symphony this weekend, and during his time off he has agreed to come to Blair to work with our students.
Students performing for the class will be:
- Nathan Lowry, violin, and Megan Gale, piano, performing the “Andantino” movement from Sergei Prokofiev’s Concerto No. 1 in D. Major, Op. 10
- Rachael Schlosberg, violin, and Megan Gale, piano, performing the “Allegro moderato” from Jean Sibelius’ Concerto in D Minor, Op. 47
- Erika Pinkerton, violin, and Brian Woods, piano, performing the “Allegro non troppo” from Johannes Brahms’ Concerto in D Major, Op. 77
