Program coordinator: Bethany Wiese
The Blair School of Music features an innovative chamber music-based ensemble curriculum that helps students develop the listening, communication, and collaborative skills essential to successful musical performance. To support this emphasis, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 2:30 to 5:15 p.m. are reserved for chamber music and large ensemble rehearsals.
These complementary ensemble experiences reinforce one another, strengthening students' musicianship while preparing them for a wide range of professional performance settings. Chamber ensembles are coached by Blair performance faculty and perform at least once each semester in Turner Recital Hall, as well as throughout the Nashville community.
Chamber music is a required part of the curriculum during the first four semesters, providing students with a strong foundation for artistic development while offering the opportunity to work closely with peers and faculty.
