Guest Artist: Timothy Ehlen, piano

Ehlen, professor of piano at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, is a highly sought-after soloist and chamber musician. He won the World Piano Competition in 1987 and made his debut at Lincoln Center a year later, with the New York Times praising the “elegant personality” and immaculate technique” of his playing. He performs frequently in the U.S. and abroad, and is often heard on NPR.
Ehlen will also conduct a master class from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, September 27, in Choral Hall.
Admission at the door is $15 per event, or $20 to attend both the concert and the master class, cash or check only. Admission is free for students. Checks should be made payable to NAMTA.
