Blair School of Music is well represented in the nominations for the 66th GRAMMY Awards, with a total of five selections announced on November 10.

Edgar Meyer, Blair adjunct associate professor of bass and a five-time GRAMMY winner, received three new nominations:
– Contemporary Instrumental Album: As We Speak – Bela Fleck, Zakir Hussain, Edgar Meyer, featuring Rakesh Chaurasia
– Global Music Performance: “Pashto” – Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer & Zakir Hussain featuring Rakesh Chaurasia
– Instrumental Composition: “Motion” – Edgar Meyer, composer (Bela Fleck, Edgar Meyer & Zakir Houssain, featuring Rakesh Chaurasia)

Dashon Burton, assistant professor of voice, has won two previous GRAMMY awards and received a new nomination in the Best Chamber Music / Small Ensemble category for the 2023 album release, Rough Magic, recorded with vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth.

Blair composition major alumnus William Brittelle (BMus’99) received a nomination for Best Contemporary Composition for “Brittelle: Psychedelics,” recorded by Roomful of Teeth.

The 66th GRAMMY Awards will take place Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
