Blair Academy at Vanderbilt is excited to announce that Ernesto Estigarribia Mussi has been named the conductor and artistic director for the Curb Youth Symphony. He serves as assistant professor of conducting and director of the Vanderbilt University Orchestra at Blair School of Music.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be appointed artistic director of the Curb Youth Symphony!” said Estigarribia Mussi. “The passion and dedication of these young musicians is truly inspiring. Together, we will explore the vast potential of orchestral music, nurturing their talent and igniting a lifelong love for the art form. I can’t wait to begin this exciting journey.”
With diverse experience conducting professional, collegiate, and youth orchestras, Estigarribia Mussi brings a new level of artistic and pedagogical intensity to Blair’s Vanderbilt Youth Orchestras (VYO) program. Highly regarded for his versatility and effervescent style on and off the podium, he serves as music director of the Sheboygan Symphony Orchestra and the Mankato Symphony Orchestra and is the first Paraguayan to be music director of a professional orchestra abroad.
The Curb Youth Symphony is the most advanced orchestra of the VYO ensembles and draws students from across the Middle Tennessee area. Through its collaboration with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra and Blair’s artist-teaching faculty, it provides world class music instruction and live performance opportunities at Blair School of Music and Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
