Blair professors Ji Hye Jung, Heather Conner, and Lee Vinson, joined by Caleb Harris, are in South Korea this week to perform a special concert at the Seoul Arts Center IBK Chamber Hall on Friday, October 11. The piano and percussion ensemble will present the Korean premiere of “Ways of Seeing,” a commissioned work by acclaimed composer Christopher Theofanidis. The US premiere of the piece was hosted in Blair’s Turner Recital Hall on February 29, 2024.
“I am delighted to travel with my Blair Colleagues to perform and share the music that we love,” said Jung. “I can’t wait to share Christopher Theofanidis’s music in Korea.”
While in Korea, the group will be working with students from the Seoul National University and Seoul Arts High School. The performers are accompanied by Blair School of Music Dean Melissa Rose, who will be meeting with the leadership of several schools to discuss future exchange programs.
