Blair Big Band brings multi-genre concert—Interwoven Threads—to Ingram Hall

The Blair Big Band presents Interwoven Threads in Ingram Hall on Friday, February 13, an ambitious concert event that features bold new jazz arrangements of music by an eclectic range of artists, from the progressive rock of Yes, sophisticated grooves of Steely Dan to the raw edge of Nirvana, soulful brilliance of Ray Charles, and timeless elegance of Ella Fitzgerald. Celebrating the rich connections between jazz, pop, and beyond, the Blair Big Band reimagines these iconic voices through the power, color, and rhythmic drive of a full jazz ensemble. The program will also include an original composition by Blair student Ian Nussdorfer.

Directed by Ryan Middagh, the nationally recognized group was named Best Big Band by readers of the Nashville Scene. Blair students and ensembles have been honored with 14 DownBeat Student Music Awards.
