Teaching assistant to Harvey Phillips, 1979. Performances throughout the United States. 74th Army Band, 1969-71; U.S. Armed Forces Bicentennial Band, 1974-76. Appearances with Henry Mancini, Mills Brothers, Johnny Desmond, Frankie Avalon, Shirley Jones, Frankie Masters, Della Reese, Paducah (Kentucky) Symphony, The Bradley Brass, Tennessee Jazz Orchestra, and at Opryland USA. Secretary-treasurer, Harvey Phillips Foundation. Students have won and have been prizewinners in such competitions as the Nortel Young Artists Competition, the Colonel George S. Howard Young Artists Competition, the Knoxville (Tennessee), Paducah (Kentucky) and Nashville (Tennessee) Youth Symphony Concerto Competitions. Other student honors include participation in the High School All Star Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble at the International Tuba-Euphonium Conference,a full scholarship to the Tanglewood Summer Music Institute, and first chair selection in local and state honor bands.
