Jimmy Bowland

Adjunct Assistant Professor of Saxophone

Jimmy Bowland is a freelance saxophone/woodwind doubler and educator proficient on saxophones, flute, piccolo and clarinets. He has made Nashville his home for the past 25 years, enjoying the full diversity Music City has to offer. He performs regularly with the Nashville Symphony on classical and pops series concerts, and has toured nationally and internationally with artists such as Brenda Lee, Jamey Johnson, The Mavericks, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and many others.

Bowland has enjoyed a busy studio career, playing on numerous projects including video game and motion picture soundtracks. He can also be heard on major album releases with artists such as Cat Stevens, Rascal Flatts, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, Kelly Clarkson, Gloria Gaynor, Trisha Yearwood and CeCe Winans.

Bowland has also had an active career as an educator/clinician. He has taught privately for more than 20 years, was on faculty at Tennessee State University for 11 years, and has conducted clinics and master classes in the U.S. and overseas in Costa Rica and China.
