Pamela R. Schneller
Associate Dean, Precollege and Adult Program
Senior Lecturer in Choral Music
Pamela Schneller is the Associate Dean for the Precollege and Adult Program, and Senior Lecturer in Choral Music. A member of the faculty since 1988, she coordinates the work of the Precollege and Adult program and teaches undergraduate classes in Conducting and Child and Adolescent Voices.
Schneller received the Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Illinois and her Master of Church Music degree from Scarritt Graduate School. Founder and Conductor of the Vanderbilt Community Chorus (2000-08), Schneller conducted the undergraduate extracurricular Vanderbilt University Concert Choir and Chamber Singers from 1999-2008. She conducted the Blair Children’s Chorus Program for 15 years, building a program of seven children’s choirs. Her choirs appeared at ACDA conventions and regional festivals, and have taken performance tours to Austria, Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, the United Kingdom, and throughout the United States. Her choirs performed with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra eight times, including performances of Britten’s Sea Symphony and War Requiem.
