Chamber Music and Collaborative Piano

Practice

Playing music with others in small instrumental groups is intensely rewarding. Weekly faculty coached sessions along with weekly small instrumental group rehearsals culminate in a final performance. Students will be active participants in the collaborative process, gaining a greater knowledge of ensemble techniques and widening their musical perspective. Students will learn how to apply their knowledge of music history and theory to their musical performance decisions. By learning how to work and play together, students improve their interpersonal skills.

  • If you are in an existing group that would like to continue, please state that here.
  • If you are already registered with a coach, but have not contacted Christina McGann, you may not be included on informational emails.

Groups will be assigned by August 12. Each group will be assigned a coach, and it is the group’s responsibility to finalize rehearsal and coaching times. Each group will receive 15 coachings and must participate in the final recital on December 9, 2023 at 2pm in Turner Recital Hall.
