Blair’s Strategic Vision
The Blair School of Music serves as the focal point at Vanderbilt for the study of music as a human endeavor and as a performing art. The school contributes to the quality of life at the university through concerts, lectures and recitals performed by faculty, students and visiting artists, scholars, and composers, and through course offerings in performance, musicology/ethnomusicology, composition and theory. In an age of increasing technological and social complexity, music offers to persons of all ages and backgrounds a vital medium for the expression of the human spirit.
